Property Description
This good sized finca (plot of agricultural land) is located along the Rio Chico, outside of the village of Bayacas in Las Aplujarras. The majority of the planted trees are olive trees (around 80) with an olive crop suitable for pressing and producing high quality olive oil.
The land is accessed via a path which starts on the main road at the entrance of the village. A couple of minutes’ walk leads you to the top section of the land. At the highest point there is a large concrete alberca (water storage tank) that holds a large quantity of irrigation water for controlled watering of the olive trees. The finca has good water rights with 6hrs of water available as needed and can be used directly on the land or fed into the alberca for later use.
Continuing down the next level, there is a large, two storey building (currently used as storage and housing chickens) constructed of stone on the ground floor and blockwork on the first floor.
The olive trees are mature and well maintained so that they are easy to work with and to harvest the olives. They have been regularly pruned and fed so as to produce good quality olives and good size crops. There are also various piping systems in place to assist in distribution of water during irrigation.
There are also some fruit trees on the land, but these are not used for any commercial purposes.
Whilst there is no car access to the finca, there is enough access to allow entry of farm machinery for ploughing the area or transporting crops etc.
More information about water rights is available on the escritura (title deeds).
