About This Property

The property is situated in the Pago, a beautiful rural area close to Orgiva. It consists of two properties, 5,000 meters of land, trees and a large swimming pool. It also has spectacular views of the Sierra de Lujar.

The main property (117m2)is a brick built house with two bedrooms (sleeping five in total), a bathroom and a large, open-plan living space with kitchen.
A brick built utility store is attached – this houses the washing machine, gas hot water heater and under floor, solar heating.

The second property is a Wooden Chalet (35m2) with one bedroom. It can sleep four, an ideal rental property or teenage/grandparent accommodation.

The swimming pool is a solid, sunken structure 8×4 metres and can be filled from the acequia (local water channel).

It is a pleasant 25-minute walk or a ten minute drive to Órgiva along a good quality track. The neighbourhood that surrounds the property is populated by a multicultural community mostly farming their land and growing food.

There are alternative schools close by with a bus service to collect children who attend the local state schools.

There are ten substantial olive trees on the land which produce sufficient oil for the year with some left over. There are another ten, recently planted, olive trees which will produce in the next year or two. There are also five/six smaller olive trees dotted around.

In the citrus season the ten mature lemon trees produce abundantly, giving sufficient lemons for everyone’s needs and enough left over to sell. A ‘Sin Tropica’ planting project is in its third year and that has a variety of soft fruit trees, including mangoes, growing.

There is a whole terrace behind the Wooden House which makes a perfect vegetable garden, it has been used for many years to provide sufficient vegetables for all to enjoy.

The Pago is situated on an ancient acequia which provides 2 hours of timetabled water every 13 days between April and October. This water source is what gives the area its lush, green appearance. The water comes from the melting snows high up on the Sierras. There is sufficient water for the whole summer and even to fill the swimming pool. Surplus water can be stored in two depositos (water tanks) which can be used to water the land when the acequia supply is less regular during the winter months.

Services:

Mains water, Mains Electricity and drainage via septic tank. Both properties currently have good internet services and are fully legal with all of the property paperwork being up to date.
